This Privacy Policy explains what information Vocalistix collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Vocalistix to be trustworthy, and privacy is part of that.
We never use your documents or text to train AI models. The voices we use are pre trained open models. We do not need your data to improve them, and we do not use it for that. We collect only what we need to run the Service and bill you fairly.
Account information: your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Your readings: the text and documents you paste, upload, or link, plus your saved playback position, so your library works and you never lose your place. This is stored so you can return to it.
Usage information: how many characters you convert to audio, so we can show your usage meter, enforce fair trial limits, and manage cost.
Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and a customer reference. We do not see or store your full card number.
To provide the Service (generate audio, save your library, resume your place), to process payments and manage your subscription, to protect the Service from abuse, and to contact you about your account or important changes.
We share the minimum needed with service providers who help us run Vocalistix: Stripe for payments; our voice generation provider, to which we send the text of the section being read so it can produce the audio; and our hosting and network providers that run the servers and secure connection. These providers process data on our behalf. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
To be completely clear: your uploaded documents, pasted text, and saved readings are never used to train, fine tune, or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else's. Text is sent to the voice engine only to generate the audio you requested, and for no other purpose.
We keep your account and readings while your account is active so the Service works for you. Generated audio files are cached temporarily to make playback fast and are cleaned up regularly. You can delete your saved readings, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data.
You can access and delete your saved readings in the app. You can request a copy of your data or the deletion of your account by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.
We protect your data with encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls so you only ever see your own data, and secrets kept off the public internet. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
We use a small amount of browser storage to keep you signed in (a login token) and to remember simple preferences such as your reading settings. We do not use advertising trackers.
Vocalistix is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this Policy. We will update the date above and, for material changes, notify you where appropriate.
